 HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Fighting Owls held Prince George's scoreless over the first three minutes of the game with three early steals and a 6-0 lead before the other Owls finally got on the scoreboard.
  • Martin Kelly Jr. got off to a great start with 10 points in the first 10 minutes, but it was the Khalil Williams-Diggins show with 15 points in that same span.
  • The two teams exchanged eight point runs midway through the first half with Harford up 30-21 with the Fighting Owls being up by as much as 17.
  • Despite the early lead, Harford struggled shooting early on as they made just one of their first 14 three point shots and free throws continued to be an issue.
  • Harford made up for the shooting woes by getting to the paint with 30 of their first 40 points in the opening stanza coming from close range shots.
  • Defense was the key for Harford early, forcing Prince George's into 13 first half turnovers and 32% shooting from the floor as the Fighting Owls led 40-34 at intermission.
  • Kelly came out of the break feeling good as he made back-to-back three pointers that he swished from the corner to extend Harford's lead to 12.
  • Isaiah Boggs was a huge factor in the second half with his patented ability to get to the rim as he scored 11 of his 15 points in the final 20 minutes.
  • The second half ultimately came down to free throws where Harford made 19-26 including all of DeZ Brown's 8 points coming from the charity stripe.
  • In the end, it was Kelly scoring 25 points with 11 rebounds and Williams-Diggins with 23 points that spurred the Fighting Owls to a big victory.
