Baltimore, Md. - The Harford men's tennis team split a pair of matches on Saturday, falling to Goucher College 8-1 but defeating St. Mary's College of MD by the same score.

Goucher showed clear improvement from year's past, having played Harford for the last 4 years and getting more competitive each time. The Gophers got off to a quick start and never looked back, securing victories in three tight doubles contests and capturing wins against Harford's top five singles players. The lone victory for the men came at #6 singles as Bruno Brocanelli came back from losing the first set to win the second 6-2 and the tiebreaker with relative ease.

The second match of the day saw the Fighting Owls put together a dominant performance against St. Mary's in commanding 8-1 win. All three of Harford's doubles team recorded victories to go with five straight set victories in the singles department. Brocanelli picked up his second win on the day (6-1, 6-3) and fourth in a row, staking his claim as MVP of the weekend.
