HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1
  • Cecil would be the first to score after an RBI single with runners at the corners gave them a 1-0 lead.
  • Nick D'Amore got Harford on the board as his double off the left field wall brought home Michael Richardson to tie the game at 1-1.
  • The Seahawks broke the deadlock by grabbing a 2-1 lead in the top of the fifth.
  • Harford answered right back in the bottom of inning, as Ryan Calhoun's first home run of the day highlighted a five run inning to give the men in blue a 6-2 lead.
  • Cecil would not go away without a fight, scoring four runs in the top of the sixth to tie the game once more at 6-6.
  • The two teams would need extra innings to decide a winner, and it would be Harford who'd find the answer in the bottom of the eighth. After loading the bases with two outs, D'Amore struck a ball off the Seahawk pitchers foot. The ball managed to avoid Cecil's gloves, allowing Edward Camp to come home and score the winning run.
  • Nick DeCarlo (1-0) picked up the win for Harford on the bump. The sophomore reliever went 2 2/3 innings giving up just two hits while striking out one.
Game 2
  • Joey Schwartz's solo shot to left field gave the Fighting Owls a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first.
  • Ryan Calhoun hit his second home run of the game in the second inning to double Harford's lead.
  • The power surge quieted down until the fifth, when Nick Rowland's two run blast and Calhoun's three RBI bomb put the men in blue up 7-0.
  • Cecil grabbed two back in the sixth, but Harford scored a couple runs of their own in bottom of the inning to complete the sweep with a 9-2 victory.
  • Nick Turnbull (2-0) looked razor sharp on the mound, throwing four innings of shutout ball before giving up his lone hit in the fifth. The Maryland-born righty struck out seven through five innings to earn the win.
