How It Happened
- The Fighting Owls traded blows with the Seahawks in the early stages of the first set, but it would be Cecil that led 13-11 at the halfway mark.
- With a 15-14 lead in hand, Cecil railed off eight straight points to make it 23-15. Harford ended the rally with two points of their own before a service error gave the Seahawks a 25-17 first set win.
- The second set followed a similar format to the first, as Harford service errors and a late run by Cecil gave the Seahawks a 25-14 victory.
- The third set provided most of the drama on the night. The two teams traded ownership of the lead in the early stages with Cecil slightly ahead. Unlike the previous two sets, it would be Harford that went on a run and grab a 21-14 lead.
- Cecil responded with a run of their own, earning 10 of the next 13 points to make it 24-24. The ladies in blue would not let the set slip out of their hands however, as back to back kills by Madison Scarpulla and Kayla Reiswig insured Harford another set.
- Tied 21-21 in the fourth, Faith Hill would step up and serve two straight aces to put Harford ahead. A Rebecca Moen kill followed by two Cecil attack errors proved to be enough to earn Harford a 25-22 victory and force a decisive final set.
- The Fighting Owls kept things close in set five and trailed just 6-5 early on. Unfortunately, it would be the Seahawks who had one last run in them, taking eight of the matches final 10 points for themselves to earn a 15-8 win in the set and a 3-2 victory on the night.
- Sophomore Allie Hallameyer was impressive on defense and finished the night with a team high 18 digs. Madison Scarpulla and Maria Lopez would lead the Harford offense with five kills, while Kayla Reiswig had four kills to pair with a team leading five assists.
