Catonsville, Md. – Freshman guard
Jaedon Willis rescued the Fighting Owls from their second straight conference letdown, scoring 31 of his 41 points in the second to push Harford past Catonsville, 95-88.
Lost in Willis' performance was an outstanding night from fellow frosh Naquan William-Day, who finished just one assist away from a triple-double (19 pts., 11 reb., 9 asts).
With the win, Harford now stands at 12-7 (7-1 Md Juco). Catonsville drops to 3-16 (1-8 Md Juco) with the defeat.
Turning Point
Despite taking 19 more field goal attempts than the Cardinals, both teams made just 14 shots over the opening 20 minutes. While the gap in number of attempts decreased in the second half (39-35 in favor of HCC), the Fighting Owls sank 21 shots compared to Catonsville's 12.
No played would capitalize on the momentum shift more than Willis, who turned a woeful start downtown (0-for-5) into a dominant final 20 minutes (7-for-9 from three).
