BEL AIR, Md. – Rashaad Anderson's block with two seconds left on the clock sealed Harford's first win of the season, as the Fighting Owls took down the Thomas Nelson Gators, 84-81, during Tuesday's home opener inside the APGFCU Arena.
The victory marks the first in the career of Harford Head Coach
Dimitrios Jelen-Joy. The former Harford basketball stalwart took over as head coach of the Fighting Owls back May after serving as an assistant for three years.
David Glenn led all Fighting Owls with 17 points, 14 of which game during the second half. The Harford sophomore also topped the team in rebounds (seven) and assists (five).
Harford improves to 1-3 with the win, while the Gators drop to 0-1.
Turning Point
The Fighting Owls 16-8 run to kick off the second half grew their halftime lead from 10 points to 18. Harford shot 6-for-7 from the floor within the run, highlighted by a pair of three's and DeAndre Anderson's six points.
