BEL AIR, Md. - Harford Community College has modified its guidelines for spectators at athletic events.
Starting April 27, spectators will be permitted back to the stands to cheer on their Fighting Owls or visiting teams. The following guidelines must be followed by all spectators.
- Masks must be worn throughout the event.
- Social distancing practices will be enforced.
- Spectators cannot have contact with student-athletes during the competition.
- Student-athletes are being asked to refrain from interacting with spectators between doubleheaders.
- Home and visiting teams will be permitted to use the restrooms in the Harford Athletic Complex building. Spectators will be directed to use the portable toilets. A sanitation station will be available for spectators.
- The grandstands for the baseball field will be sectioned off. The seating directly behind home plate is reserved for HCC staff, athletes, and scouts. The other sections are available for spectators but must social distance and wear masks.
- If a visiting team can only compete at sites without spectators, HCC and Region 20 will honor these guidelines during these competitions.
- HCC's President and the Vice President for Student Affairs and Institutional Effectiveness retain the right to cancel the spring season(s) if metrics change.
