Harford Swipes Road Win off Potomac State

KEYSER, W.V. - Maseo Carson's three with seconds left sealed Harford's first road win of 2022, as the Fighting Owls took down Region 20 foe Potomac State 89-86 on Wednesday.

Carson's deadly range led the freshman forward to tie his career high of 26 points, highlighted by an 8-of-11 mark from downtown. Ricardo Ross was also solid on the evening, pairing 19 points with a team best eight boards.

Harford moves to 11-7 on the year with the victory.

Turning Point
Harford led early in the contest and took a 10 point lead into the break, but Potomac State fought back and carried leads twice in the second half. The two teams traded buckets deep into the final minutes and eventually landed at an 84-84 stalemate with 1:12 left. The Catamounts broke the deadlock on a layup with 36 seconds to play, then drew a foul after a Harford miss with 21 seconds left. Potomac State missed both free throws, with the Fighting Owls pulling down the rebound off the second shot and calling time.

The men in blue turned to the red hot Maseo Carson out of the break, and the freshman paid them back with a long three to put Harford up one. A steal on the ensuing inbound by Kenny Moore and a quick layup by Ricardo Ross with 1.3 seconds left put Harford up three, but Potomac State's final shot fell short and Harford walked away with a victory.
