BEL AIR, Md. - The Fighting Owls utilized a late offensive surge to thrust itself past Army Prep, 13-12, Saturday afternoon inside the Harford Sports Complex.
Harford trailed 10-8 with five minutes left in the third, but
Nate Surd found the back of the net on a pass from Taz Delaney to cut the deficit in the half 30 second later. Neither team would score for the rest of the quarter.
Delaney broke the drought with an early goal to start the fourth, then came back for a second to hand Harford the lead at the 7:22 mark.
Ben Ferrell then tickled the twine 90 seconds later to double the Fighting Owls advantage.
Army Prep managed to get one back at the 5:17 mark in the fourth, but a
Nate Surd goal with 2:14 left put Harford ahead by two once more. Army Prep tossed in a last gasp score with 13 seconds to play, but the Fighting Owls won the following faceoff and ran out the clock to swipe the victory.
Harford stands at 5-1 after the win.
