Williams Drops 36 on Richard Bland

BEL AIR, MD - After a strong win the night before, the Fighting Owls returned to the nest to host Richard Bland on Veteran Appreciation Night. There were several special guests in attendance including Dr. Felder, members of the President's Cabinet, former Maryland State Senator and Harford County Executive Bob Cassilly, Major General Robert L. Edmonson US Army II Sr. Commander at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Colonel Phillip J. Mundweil the APG Garrison Commander, APG Garrison Command Sergeant Major Paul J. Denson, and Bob Brown the Chairman of the Harford County Commission on Veterans Affairs. The Fighting Owls put on a show for the crowd and improved to 3-2 on the year after their 80-69 win over the Statesmen.

Ty Williams had his first breakout game of 2023 notching 36 points and shooting 5-9 from three-point range. He also contributed three steals and four assists to the victory. Through the first five games of the season he is averaging 18.8 points per game, shooting .473 from the floor and .320 from behind the arch. Those numbers put him second on the list of scoring stats for all of Region 20 Division I men's basketball. Paul Mason would contribute 12 points and 6 rebounds to the win, as well as 3 blocks. Mason currently leads Region 20 Division I men's basketball in blocks with 13. Last season he earned national recognition with 68 blocks on the year. Nate Lacey would lead the team in rebounds with 11. He currently averages 8.8 rebounds per game, and has 44 total rebounds through 5 games, leading Region 20 Division I in both categories.

Next up the Fighting Owls travel to Supply, North Carolina for the Brunswick Classic. They face Spartanburg Methodist on Saturday, November 18th and Brunswick CC on Sunday, November 19th. Live stream and live stat details can be located on the Harford Athletics website when available.
