SYRACUSE, NY – Fighting Owls Men's Lacrosse opened up its 2023 campaign with a thrilling overtime win on the road against Onondaga.

The contest was evenly matched through most of the contest until Harford managed to pull ahead by 2 goals going into the fourth period. As the game wore on the weather deteriorated and snow had accumulated on the field so much that the sidelines had to be cleared constantly for visibility. Onondaga would go down 10-14 with 7:47 remaining in the contest and slowly chip away at their deficit throughout the final period. The game-tying goal came with under a minute left in regulation as snow poured down onto the field to force overtime.

Carter Korzenski and
Jack Mulligan lead the scoring for the Fighting Owls with four goals apiece. Freshman defender
Shaine Luzietti would notch two of his own, as well as Sophomore midfielder
Trevor Sousa.
Dylan Tomarchio, and
Caleb Haire would add a goal to the score line but ultimately it would be
Cayden Collins to notch the final blow and send the Owls to sudden death victory.

As a team the Fighting Owls converted all three of their man-up chances. Freshman goalie
Alex Epple logged 17 saves on the day, and the Harford defense converted 14-16 clears. Defender
Steven Mancha logged three caused turnovers and face off specialist
Mark Durling lead the team in ground balls with 7.

Next up, Harford travels to New York for games against #5 Genesee and Monroe CC on March 17 and 18.
