Wilmington, N.C. -- The Fighting Owls men's basketball team went 0-2 this past weekend at the Tyrek Kroger Classic, falling to host Cape Fear Community College 82-68 on Friday night and Brunswick Community College 83-59 on Saturday.
Harford (3-3, 0-0) will play its second Maryland Juco Athletic Conference and Region 20 game this evening when they travel to take on CCBC Catonsville. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
On Friday, the Fighting Owl's offense shot the ball well, going 26-42 (61.9%) overall and hit nearly half it three pointers (6-13, 46.2%).
However, Harford allowed the Sun Devils too many opportunities, as the latter had 23 more field goal attempts in the game.
The Sun Devils also outrebounded the Fighting Owls 45-19.
Three Fighting Owls scored in double digits.
Elisha Brown (Bowie, Md.) led Harford with 18 points and added seven boards. The 6-foot-6 sophomore is averaging 15.8 points per game this season and is shooting 64.4% (29-45) overall.
Zach Kirk (Parkesburg, Pa.) finished with 10 points and
Jeremiah Barnes (Clinton, Md.) had 13 points off the bench.
Harford's bench outscored Cape Fear 29-7.
Less than 24 hours later, the Fighting Owls lost their second game in as many days, this time by 14 points to the Brunswick Dolphins.
Harford had three players finish in double digits, but shot just 37.3% (25-67) and only 7-for-31 from behind the arc.
Kristofer Peet (Glen Burnie, Md.) and Brown led the Fighting Owls with 13 points apiece and
Daniel Kato (Kyoto, Japan) had 10 points.
After winning its first three games of the season, Harford has now lost three straight.
The Fighting Owls look to get back in the win column tonight, as they travel to CCBC Catonsville.
