BEL AIR, MD — Harford Community College wrapped up the 2024–2025 season with 13 championship titles, including a third consecutive NJCAA national championship in men's lacrosse, five Region 20 titles, and standout performances across the board.
The Fighting Owls men's lacrosse team continued its dominance with an undefeated season, capped by a 20–10 victory over Nassau in the national final to secure its third straight NJCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship. Sophomore
Liam Forsyth earned Offensive Player of the Tournament honors with seven goals and three assists, while freshman goalie
Jack Donovan was named Defensive MVP after back-to-back 10-save performances.
Harford baseball posted a 46–10 record, powered by a deep lineup that included NJCAA Division I All-America Honorable Mention
Keldrin Rodriguez (.360 AVG, 64 RBI) and
Ryan Albin (.390 AVG, 36 RBI). Harford had five qualified players (two plate appearances per game and 75% of games played) with a .300+ batting average and .800+ OPS. The team slugged 50 home runs and stole 209 bases, showcasing a balanced attack and aggressive base running. Standout pitching performances included
Liam Diehl (65 2/3 innings pitched, 7-2 record, 3.43 ERA, 72 strikeouts),
Ryan Garcia (56 innings pitched, 8-1, 3.05 ERA, 67 strikeouts) and
Titus Shay (37 innings, 5-1, 4 saves, 2.43 ERA, 53 strikeouts), to name a few.
Fighting Owls softball finished with a 22-16 record, their fourth consecutive 20+ win season, including a seven-game win streak in April. They also won nine of their final 11 regular season games. Sophomores
Anna Sexton and
Alexis Trezciak had record-breaking seasons. Sexton went 14-3 in the circle, bringing her career wins total to 23 – a new Fighting Owls record. She also sits third all-time with a 3.05 earned run average and 181 career strikeouts. Trezciak tied the single season record for triples (6) and set a new career record with 11 three-baggers. Trezciak's records were even more impressive given she battled multiple injuries, including thoracic outlet syndrome, a rare condition where nerves or blood vessels between the collarbone and first rib compress, causing pain and numbness in the shoulder, arm, and hand.
Women's basketball, under head coach and first-year Fighting Owl
Marvin Evans, posted a 16–14 record — matching the win total of the previous three seasons combined — and claimed its first Region 20 title in six years. Sophomores
Madison Nimmo and
Eshe Knox earned All-Region honors, with Nimmo also receiving NJCAA All-America honorable mention. The Fighting Owls won three of their final four games of the season, outscoring opponents 242-62 in the victories.
Men's basketball welcomed first-year JUCO head coach
Solomon Zurier to the sidelines. And while the Fighting Owls finished 12-19 overall, they ended on a high note by winning two of three to end the regular season. In addition,
Jeremiah Barnes,
Kristofer Peet and
Amare Curtis earned All-Region 20 honors. Zurier's squad began the season with a three-game winning streak, including a 95-88 overtime win at Delaware Technical in the first game of the year.
Women's volleyball went undefeated in the regular season and earned its second straight trip to the NJCAA Division II national tournament. Sophomore
Laura Piva led the charge with 342 kills, including a career-high 27 against Allegany, and was named Harford Female Athlete of the Year. Sophomore
Morgan Barnett led the team with 606 assists. Piva (675) and Barnett (1,240) are now the Fighting Owls all-time leaders in kills and assists, respectively.
Men's soccer standout
Rex Pearce tied for the most goals in Region 20 Division I with 15 and led the region in points (37) and shots (86). Pearce also earned Harford Male Scholar Athlete honors, while goalkeeper
Archie Bennett delivered two penalty kick saves in the Region 20 Championship match, helping to seal the program's first ever Region 20 title, in a history that dates back over 50 years.
Women's soccer freshman
Soraya Ramirez was named Harford Athletics Rookie of the Year after scoring 12 goals and recording three assists, including a five-goal performance against Carroll Community College. The Fighting Owls won their third straight Region 20 Division I title in 2024 and finished 6-0-2 against Maryland JUCO Conference opponents. Head coach

th career game in 2024 and is now 40-26-6 (.597) after four seasons at the helm.
In tennis, assistant coach Kevin Shaner stepped up midseason to lead the men's team to a 10th-place finish at the NJCAA Division I Championships, following the departure of the Fighting Owls' previous head coach. The men's squad had impressive wins against four-year colleges such as Millersville University, Frostburg State University, Messiah University, Loyola University Maryland and Coppin State University.
With a blend of international talent, local pride, and championship culture, Harford Athletics continues to set the standard in NJCAA competition — and the Fighting Owls show no signs of slowing down. Thanks for the memories, 2024 – we're ready for 2025!
