BEL AIR, Md. - The Harford men's lacrosse team improved to 2-0 with a 12-8 victory over Mercyhurst North East on Sunday. For the second-straight day, the Fighting Owls spotted the visitors an early lead, but stormed back for the weekend sweep.
Harford trailed 4-2 after the first quarter and 5-4 at the half, but outscored Mercyhurst North East 8-3 after the break.
For the second consecutive day,
Matt Vickers tallied three goals and
Ben Wilson netted the game-winning goal. Wilson added three assists to go along with his one goal.
Sonny Botterill also scored three goals while
Jacob Duarte netted two second-half tallies.
Jake Hancock,
Baron Springfield and
Matt Kotowski also put a notch in the scoring column.
Timothy Kemena made a season-high 19 saves to improve to 2-0.
The Fighting Owls close their three-game, season-opening home stand on Wednesday with a 4:30 start against Delaware Tech.
