No. 10 Men's Lacrosse Comeback Falls Short To No. 5 Suffolk

BEL AIR, Md. - The No. 10 Harford men's lacrosse team climbed back into its home match against No. 5 Suffolk, but the deficit was to great to overcome in a 9-7 loss on Saturday. The Fighting Owls scored five fourth-period goals, but fell to 2-2 on the year.

The Sharks took a 4-0 lead at the half, jumped ahead 8-2 after the third period and scored the first goal of the fourth quarter. With 2:26 seconds remaining, the Fighting Owl offense kicked into high gear.

Sophomore Jacob Duarte and freshman Seth Hinder scored back-to-back unassisted tallies. Sophomore Sonny Botterill completed his hat trick with a goal from Duarte with 1:04 remaining. Duarte added an unassisted tally with 29 seconds left and Botterill assisted on Jake Donahoe's first goal of the game with four seconds left, but time ran out on the Fighting Owls.

Nate Gilpin (2-2) took the loss in goal, making eight saves and allowing nine goals.

The Fighting Owls host Jamestown at noon on Sunday.
