ARNOLD, Md. - The Harford men's lacrosse team (6-6, 1-1 MD JUCO) evened its overall and conference record with a thrilling overtime victory over Anne Arundel (2-4, 0-2 MD JUCO) on Wednesday, 17-16.
Greg Goodwin netted the game winner for the Fighting Owls.
Anne Arundel had an early scoring chance in the extra period, but goalie
Nate Gilpin collected a clutch save from point-blank range, setting up the Harford break.
Jake Donahoe found Goodwin for the game winning tally, giving the Fighting Owls their first conference win of the season.
Sophomore
Jacob Duarte had a career night, totaling 10 points with a personal-best six goals and four assists on the evening, while also collecting a game-high 10ground balls.
Jason Terry chipped in with three goals and three assists while
Jake Hancock added a hat trick in the win.
Gilpin made eight total saves in the win, including the game-saver in overtime. The Fighting Owl defense of
Ryan Cummings,
Tyler Schafer and
Adam Merryman helped force 22 turnovers in the win.
The Fighting Owls travel to Stevenson on Friday for a 6 p.m. start.
