ABERDEEN, Md. - The Harford golf team hosted the 2015 Harford Invitational and finished in third place. The Fighting Owls improved their overall team score by 28 strokes and three of the five golfers also lowered their totals.
Harford's 330 was better than Anne Arundel (335) and Southern Maryland (336). Hagerstown won the event with a 315 while Allegany took second with a 317.
Ricky Scheeler took third place with a 76, nine strokes better than last week's total.
Mike Filler took fifth place after lowering his week one total by three strokes to a 79.
Eric Spalt and
Travis Greenwood rounded out the four-man group for Harford with an 87 and 88, respectively. It was Greenwood's season debut.
The Fighting Owls travels to Frederick on Thursday.
