BEL AIR, Md. - Playing the first game of the season in frigid weather and a brisk wind, the Harford men's lacrosse team needed a little extra time to warm up for the 2011 campaign. The Fighting Owls rebounded from a five-goal defecit to defeat Morris 10-8 on Saturday.

After spotting the visitors a 6-1 lead through one quarter, the Fighting Owls stormed back, scoring the next eight goals en route to the season opening victory. It was also Hugh Donovan's first victory on the Harford sideline.

Sophomore leader Matt Vickers led the way offensively with three goals, while Ben Wilson netted the game-winning goal to go along with a team-high four assists.

Both Dane Grudzien and Jacob Duarte scored two goals, while Grudzien added an assist in the win. Sonny Botterill and Jack Valenti also netted goals for Harford.

Timothy Kemena made five saves in the win.

The Fighting Owls return to Harford Stadium for a noon start against Mercyhurst North East on Sunday.
