Men's Lacrosse Wins Fifth Straight

BEL AIR, Md. - The No. 7 Harford men's lacrosse team (9-3) won its fifth consecutive contest on Wednesday, defeating Northern Virginia, 21-5. The Fighting Owls scored 12-straight goals to put the game out of reach in the first half.

Trailing 2-1 midway through the first quarter, the Fighting Owls offense erupted for a goal to tie it after one period, a 7-0 advantage in the second quarter and the first four goals of the second half.

Ricky DeMicco totaled eight points on five goals and three assists, while Justin Gosnell added three goals and three helpers. Jason Terry scored four times and Matt Ward netted three tallies. Six other Fighting Owls scored goals in the win.

Tom Yancheski and Matt Bradenbaugh split time in goal, with Yancheski making four saves and allowing two goals and Bradenbaugh allowing three goals and making two saves.

The team's ninth win is tied for most in the nation. Harford host No. 10 Anne Arundel (4-3) on Friday at 4 p.m.
