Arnold, Md. -- Harford Fighting Owls sophomore guard
Madison Nimmo (C. Miltong Wright H.S.) has been named the November Region 20 Division I Women's Basketball Player of the Month in an announcement released Wednesday by the region.
Nimmo is the first Harford women's basketball player to earn a league monthly award since Dahnye Redd won Maryland Juco Athletic Conference Player of the Month in December 2018.
Nimmo played 355 of 360 minutes of Harford's nine games in November and helped lead the Fighting Owls to a 5-4 start.
She averaged 19.9 points per game, 4.6 assists and 2.6 steals. The Street, Md. native shot .350 (56-160) on field goals and .451 (23-51) from behind the arc.
Nimmo had collegiate career-highs in points with 35 and steals with five on November 19 in a 69-53 road win over CCBC Catonsville.
After the first month of the season, Nimmo led Region 20 Division I in points per game and three-point shooting percentage, was Top 5 in assists per game and field goal shooting percentage and Top 20 in steals.
Nimmo played her freshman season at the University of Lynchburg (Lynchburg, Va.) during the 2022-2023 season, earning All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference third team honors. She averaged 12.5 points per game and shot .340 from the floor, while hitting 19-of-60 (.317) threes and had the ninth-best free throw percentage (72%) in the conference.
