Harford Athletics Hall of Fame
Capallo coached the first ever varsity sport at Harford, and he led the Fighting Owls for six seasons, from 1958-64. In the program's third year, he coached the school's first winning season. He led the team to a win in its first ever contest in 1958, over Essex Community College. In 1962, Capallo became the first head coach of the baseball program, the second sport at the College.Capallo coached the first ever varsity sport at Harford Community College, men's basketball. "We won and lost a lot of games over the years, but I am still proud that in the first game of the first year, we won against Essex Community College," Mr. Capallo recalls.

In 1962, he became the first coach of the baseball team, the second sport at the College. As an active member in the community, he became the first president of the Bel Air recreation council and, following his coaching career at Harford, he continued as a basketball and football official for many years. Now 87-years old, Bill still resides in Bel Air.
